Forest of Memories

The Forest of Memories is a Waipukurau Rotary Club project - owned and operated by the Club. Sited at the base of Pukeora Hill, in Waipukurau Hawkes Bay the arboretum was created in 1993 as a place for trees and memories.

It is managed by Rotarian Andrew Watts - a small group of volunteers maintain the tracks and plantings. The Rotary Club holds working bees regularly.

Tuki Tuki Trails & Gum Tree Farm Mountain Bike Park

Created and managed by the Rotary River Pathways Trust - the Tuki Tuki Trail is a network of trails for walkers and bikers, situated in Central Hawkes Bay between the townships of Waipukurau & Waipawa. They have been formed by the trust - a large group of volunteers and Rotarians help maintain the trails.

Connect Driver Mentoring

This programme of driver mentoring targets young people to assist them to pass a drivers license. There are a number of Rotarians that give their time, along with other volunteers in our community.

The programme was devised to meet a need. Some young students and workers were unable to get a licence due to a lack of finances - but the biggest hurdle was that testing only took place in Dannevirke and Hastings. The driver mentoring programme has been a huge success.
